It's hard to believe, but July is almost over and August is around the corner. The beginning of a new month is always a great time to reflect, reset, or even start a new routine. For those of you looking to hop back on the exercise wagon or even if you are just looking to mix things up, you don't have to go far. In fact, you don't even need to leave your apartment.
Last night was CHR's annual 5K Wellness Walk. An awesome tradition and a good way to connect with coworkers and enjoy, albeit very warm, outside! In honor of the Wellness Walk, here are a few tips for you to incorporate into your day-to-day lifestyle. As always, consult your doctor before taking on any new exercise routine.
A number of CHR employees are strapping on their sneakers and hitting the sidewalk in a friendly competition for glory and bragging rights. Walktober is a 31-day program with one goal in mind: go take a walk! Employee's success is tracked by the number of minutes they walk per day. 30-44 minutes equals a red leaf, 45-59 minutes equals an orange leaf, and 60 plus minutes equals a gold leaf.
Not having time to get to the gym doesn't have to be an excuse when you can get a great full body workout right in your CHR apartment. It also doesn't have to be intimidating to start a good fitness routine. Steve, of Nerd Fitness, put together a great circuit to get your foot in the right direction.
We all do it. We all make the solemn vow to eat better and exercise more. In 2013, let's make a slight addendum to that resolution. Take baby steps! If you go full tilt on January 1st, you're less likely to achieve your goals. However, If you can achieve one small goal in 30 days you're going to form 12 new great habits by the end of the year.
