Cooking With PumpkinsCool fall weather makes you crave hearty warm meals to share and, as a native squash to North America, pumpkins make a great base for any dish. Whether it's sweet or salty, you're almost guarenteed to find it delicious.  Here are a few interesting pumpkin recipes we found around the web:

Breakfast:

Jack-o-Pumpkin Breakfast Sandwich: Unbelievably tasty on it's own, but feel free to subsitute the vegan sausage with a regular sausage patty. Best part? It's Guy Approved.

Pumpkin Banana Bread: For anti-banana crowd, you can skip that part. The author suggests serving with pumpkin cream cheese, but you may find that too much on the pumpkin-y side. Regular cream cheese works just fine. (Non-recipe note: Gina's Skinny Taste is an awesome website for really great tasting meals that don't rack up the calories)

Appetizers:

Pumpkin Hummus: Nice twist on a snack favorite. Only 117 calories per serving! Bonus!

Beef and Pumpkin Meatballs: This recipe shows how to make it as a meal, but form the meatballs a little smaller and set them out for snacking with the tomato sauce nearby for dipping. Delicious!

Mail Dish:

Baby Pumpkins Stuffed with Sausage: The orginal recipe is great, but try it sauting the sausage with some of the pumpkin meat.

Curried Pumpkin and Peas: Sweet and hearty. This meal warms you right up. Delightful with a fruity white wine.

Dessert:

Pumpkin Creme Brulee: Break out the blow torch! This is wonderfully creamy treat! If you don't have your blow torch handy, it's just as easy to broil them in the oven.

Pumpkin Bars: Betty Crocker is a kitchen fixture and with good reason.  This recipe is as easy as it is tasty.
