With the extreme low and extreme high temperatures we've been experiencing in the past few weeks, climate change awareness is more important than ever. Climate Action Brookline is hosting their third annual Brookline Climate Week that kicks off tomorrow and runs through February 3rd. Folks of all ages can learn about protecting our environment while having a lot of fun. Here are a few highlights from the week's line up:
January 26th: 3R Depot, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Extravaganza
It's the kickoff event! Stop by Brookline Town Hall from 10am-2pm to learn different ways you can reduce your waste. You can also bring any styrofoam that may be around the apartment for proper disposal.
January 27th: Polar Bear Climate Dash
Family fun at the Brookline High School from 12pm-3pm. It's a wild dash against the climate clock!
January 30th: Some Distance: The Nature of Connections, Gallery Reception
Head down to The New England Institute of Art from 4:30pm-6:30pm for an art exhibit of environmental photography and design of nature found within urban landscapes.
All Week Long: Savory Climate Week Meals
Boston's first certified green restaurant, The Fireplace, will be serving up dishes all week long that have a tiny carbon footprint. Eat guilt free and get ideas for your home cooked meals.
This is just a sampling of all the activity Brookline Climate Week has in store. Check out their website for the full schedule, brooklineclimateweek.org.
