Don't be fooled by looking out your window, it's March and now is the time to get a head start on your spring cleaning. Cleaning out your closet is proven to reduce stress and unwanted clothes go to good use by donating them.
There's simple way to asses W.A.S.T.E*:
W - Worthwhile? Do you truly like the item?
A - Again? Have you worn the item in the past year? If not, will you wear it in the next year?
S - Somewhere else? Is it a unique item that can never be replaced? If it's just another plain sweater, you can probably replace it if you ever needed it again.
T - Toss? Will the world stop spinning if you get rid of the item? Or could you help someone else by giving it away.
E - Entire? Do you need the whole thing or just part of it? Can you keep the blazer, but get rid of the pants?
Now that you've compiled your items for donation, it's time to choose where to bring them. Here are a couple of options:
Vietnams Vets of America: They'll come pick up your clothes. No need to haul and find a donation center! Check out their site here.
Big Brother/Big Sister: Need the bags out of the way now? Visit BBBS for a list of drop box locations. They also will pick up your items if you schedule. Check out their Massachusetts site and their Rhode Island site.
