Superbowl Recipes from CHR ResidentsWith the New England Patriots preparing for Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, we asked our apartment residents what they are preparing to eat for the game. We received so many suggestions, but below are a few of our favorites.

 

Party Mix

Recipe from Chef Steven of Norwood Gardens Apartments, Norwood MA:

"1 stick butter
1 ½ teaspoons seasoned salt
4 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cups each: Rice Chex, Wheat Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios
1 cup pretzel sticks
1 cup mixed nuts
Mix butter, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoned salt on low heat. Drizzle mixture on cereal and pretzels. Cook at 250 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Place on paper towels after removing from the oven and let cool before storing."

 

Cream Cheese Clam Dip

Recipe from Chef Jennifer of Norwood Gardens Apartments, Norwood, MA:

"It's so incredibly easy, take two cans of snow's minced clams (juice and all), mix that with three packages of softened cream cheese until there are not cream cheese lumps left and serve with wavy or ridged chips! YUMMY!!!!"

 

Chinese Chicken Wings

Recipe from Chef Tara of Waterfall Hills Apartments, Canton MA:

"Marinate [one bag of frozen] wings in 1cup sugar, 1 cup soy sauce and tsp garlic powder overnight. Bake at 325 for about 45 mins. Yum."

 

Turkey Chili

Recipe from Chef Michael of Water View Apartments, Framingham MA: 

"Been making this for several years! Using ground turkey, canned kidney beans, and plenty of seasonings gives this lots of flavor. Even better on the second day!
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
1 pound ground turkey
1 onion, chopped
2 cups water
1 (28 ounce) can canned crushed tomatoes
1 (16 ounce) can canned kidney beans - drained, rinsed, and mashed
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS:
1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Place turkey in the pot, and cook until evenly brown. Stir in onion, and cook until tender.
2. Pour water into the pot. Mix in tomatoes, kidney beans, and garlic. Season chili powder, paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 30 minutes."

 

Sausage Balls

Recipe from Chef Meghan of Norwood Gardens Apartments, Norwood MA:

1 lb ground sausage
1lb sharp cheddar cheese shredded
3 cups Bisquick
Preheat oven to 400. Mix it all together with your hands. Roll into 1-2 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet (put tin foil down first). Cook for approx 6-10 min...might take 15. Until golden brown. You don't need any liquid, but ranch for dipping would be AMAZING!"
