CHR's charity for February is GO RED for Women Day. This Friday, February 5th is GO RED for Women day, a holiday started by the American Heart Association to bring awareness for women's heart health. CHR employees will be decked out in red and donating $5 to help the cause. Last year we raised $2040 and we want to see that number grow! Stop by your resident services office and join the cause.
Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined. For more than 12 years, the American Heart Association has sponsored National Wear Red Day to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease in women. Since the inception of Wear Red Day, the fight against heart disease in women has made great strides. They include 21% fewer women dying from heart disease and 23% more women aware that it’s their number one health threat.
