Charity of the Month: The Brookline Teen CenterCHR's Charity for the month of September is The Brookline Teen Center. The Brookline Teen Center(BTC) opened a year ago, and it has been a magnet for Brookline, MA teens to socialize, learn and have fun ever since.

“The Center is great place for young people to gather,” says Matt Cooney, Executive Director. “We offer programs, events and facilities that help young people to grow in their abilities, make good decisions and practice leadership. The teens of Brookline finally have their own safe, positive and fun place to gather.”
“In the past year,” says Matt, “almost five hundred teens became members of the Center, and thousands of boys and girls have used the facility. I’m proud of the work everyone here has been doing and so thankful for everyone who has supported us to help make the Brookline Teen Center a reality.”
This year, the Brookline Teen Center is participating in the Rodman Ride for Kids, which raises money for over 40 charities.  The Ride for Kids is a one-day cycling tour that raises money for nonprofit agencies that promote healthy, positive lives for children throughout New England. The Ride has raised over 61 million dollars for a variety of organizations which serve children and families. Beneficiary organizations of The Ride work together, year round, to collaborate on the planning and implementation of this annual event.
The BTC is fielding 12 riders in the ride, and training has been a great experience. 100% of the money raised by the team will go to the Center. In addition, Don Rodman, founder and funder of the Ride, has pledged to give the Center an additional match of all the monies raised by the team.
Everyone is encouraged to volunteer for the ride. For more information or to support one of the Center’s riders, visit: or
