Recap: Living Green in 2012Since 2006, CHR has removed 3476 metric tons of CO2 from the air. To visualize this number, it would be the equivalent of taking 742 passenger vehicles off the road. That's a lot of traffic! In 2012 alone, we reduced our carbon footprint by saving 1350 metric tons of CO2 and 120,000 therms. Our biggest success yet. In addition, we asked our residents to make an eco-effort by hosting events and contests like the photo above from 2012's Charles River Watershed Earth Day Clean Up. Visit our Resident Events page to learn more.

In 2013, we are looking for bigger and better ways to be green.

Along with our continued effort to improve our energy efficiency, we are asking CHR employees to step up. In January, we challenged our employees to Be Green in 2013. January's challenge was to reduce paper waste from unwanted junk mail by signing up with Catalog Choice. One lucky worker at Water View Terrace Apartments in Framingham MA won a $10 gift certificate to a local coffee shop for accepting the challenge. Each task will be announced on our CHR Facebook page and we highly encourage you to play along with us (even if you won't win anything). Let's all Be Green in 2013.
